AM-214 "Pyramids On The Nile"
Original Air Date:02/15/99

The Brief:
Cage & Fish go against a Fortune 500 company and its 7 attorneys to help Callie Horn & Steve Cloves get compensation for the loss of their jobs - they were fired because they kept their relationship a secret. It turns out, the company was simply "enforcing" a Date-and-Tell policy, through which employees are forced to fess up about their affairs, which serves to "eliminate" the firm's liability in sexual harrassment lawsuits, if such should arise. Cage gives a brilliant closing, mentioning his relationship with co-counsel Nelle as well, and the jury awards the couple $942,000.
Meanwhile, Billy yells at Ally for going into court unprepared, and thus leading to the ruling against them. Ally has a hard time indentifying the source of his anger, until Billy reveals he's actually jealous of Greg. The firm's members also go against Fish's decision to hire Ling (who's recently given him an amazing "hair tickle"), but Richard keeps his cool.
Later the next day at the office, Billy and Ally share a passionate kiss, revealing their feelings for one another.

AM-215 "Sideshow"
Original Air Date:02/22/99

The Brief:
In this brilliant episode :o), Ally & Billy deal with their kiss and confronting each other about what's *really* going on. Ally turns to Tracy, who advises Ally to 'test-drive' Greg in bed - to find out whether they're sexually compatible or not. Afterward, Billy admits he wants Ally, and though nothing happens, they *do* kiss, which makes Ally feel even MORE guilty - especially considering the fact that she constantly has to face Georgia, who's still in the dark about everything, as is Greg.
Ally drags Billy with her to Tracy, and finds out many interesting things. First of all, Billy considers her extremely vain. Second of all, Billy thinks love is "wasted" on Ally, "...because you'll always be unhappy!" He explains that that's why he left - he thinks she'll always be dissatisfied with her life. Ally, hurt and angry, denies all of Billy's accusations, and tells him that's she's "gaining on happiness. I *will* get there one day..." Billy hopes he's there to see it, but she promises if he is, "...it'll be from a distance." She tells him she loves him and leaves.

AM-216 "Sex, Lies & Politics"
Original Air Date:03/01/99

The Brief:
Ally’s conscience is finally getting to her – she imagines people pointing at her, calling her a liar, and even the Pope is muttering “malla donna” while walking past her. Renee advises her to turn to Tracy for guilt counseling, but before Ally has a chance to, she cracks under the pressure and tells Greg the truth – she kissed someone else. Greg is understandably upset, and so is Ally – who, of course, takes it all out on Billy.
Meanwhile, in court, John is arguing a political case. His client, Shirley Peterson, went bankrupt with her store after a sleazy senator labeled it a smut shop for selling classics like Balzac & Chaucer. Now, she’s suing to get her money back. Ling, the new co-counsel, pulls stunts even weirder than Cage – she objects to her own client’s testimony. We later find out that that’s exactly the tactic Cage wanted Ling to use. They win $1.2 million with Ling’s partially Chinese testimony, and she herself couldn’t be prouder.
Billy finally cracks, too – he tells Georgia about kissing Ally, and Ally later appears to offer an explanation – and many an apology – in person. She admits she loves Billy, but knows she’s not meant to be with him – Georgia is. She also realizes how important her friendship with Georgia really is, after which Georgia quietly asks her to leave.

AM-217 "Civil Wars"
Original Air Date:04/05/99

The Brief:
This time, it’s the firm against itself in court, representing two sides of a love battle that confronts lies and pretentiousness. John & Ally go against Richard & Georgia, the first representing Paula Hunt, who’s suing Kevin Wah (the son of Richard’s largest client) for fraudulent seduction and date rape. Quickly, the case turns from a simple matter to war – with John & Richard arguing over who’s the best senior partner, and Ally & Georgia, of course, over the now-famous kiss. This is taken from the court to the bathroom – Ally & Georgia start fighting and Nelle, in an attempt to tug them away from one another, ends up turning it into a brawl, with Ling joining in at the least appropriate moment. Finally, it’s resolved, and while Ally’s in the hospital getting a butterfly on her forehead courtesy of Dr. Greg, Paula & Kevin think about the closing arguments made in court and finally decide to get back together. Greg, unfortunately, ends up only giving Ally a tetanus shot.
Meanwhile, Nelle settles an IRS case of a very sweaty client by swaying the seemingly iron-willed agent with her gorgeous locks. In the end, everyone is happy.

"Going the Distance"

AM-218 "Those Lips, That Hand"
Original Air Date:04/19/99

The Brief:
Ally & Cage face possibly their toughest case to date – defending a man who sawed off his wife’s hand *after* she was dead. “He just couldn’t bring himself to let go…” they state. Renee is the DA on the case, and she has no intention to lose this one – she uses her own tricks to try & beat out Cage’s. Unfortunately for her, the jury goes with Ally & John and let him go on account of “temporary insanity”…
Outside of the courtroom, John also faces his personal problems – he’s turning 35, and he feels he hasn’t lived. He kisses first Ally, then Renee, trying to determine whether he’ll really find love that way. Later, Nelle surprises him at the bar with quite a gift – getting the real Barry White to appear and sing his “You’re the First, the Last, My Everything”. Everyone (including Billy & Georgia, who represented a man fired for his comb-over; later, Ling agreed to give him a hasty haircut which got him his job back) celebrates at the bar, and together dances to White’s tune.

AM-219 "Let's Dance"
Original Air Date:04/26/99

The Brief:
Richard tries to talk Ally into helping him & Nelle defend a firm that’s being sued for discrimination against mothers – seven women were promised partnership, then, after they gave birth, the partnership was denied. Ally, of course, says no, and Nelle takes on Cage to help them. They’re also in a for a “surprise” – Margaret Camaro, “only the best women’s rights advocate in the country”, is a witness for the plaintiff. Nelle gives great arguments & a good closing, but alas, they lose. Richard (who, later on, shows Nelle the pit maneuver, making her eyes go wide and her hair pop out of its bun) & John also find out something shocking – Nelle doesn’t want to have kids. Cage later figures out that this is probably because she was scarred by her parents’ divorce, which she never told him about but which he instinctively knows of.
Ally also helps Elaine find a temporary dance partner – who just happens to be Ling – for Elaine to dance with at an upcoming competition. Ling first agrees, then backs out, then agrees once again – and they qualify for regionals! Meanwhile, Billy & Georgia go to a horrible therapist (portrayed wonderfully by Rosie O’Donnell) – who ends up being a victim of Ally’s stomping – and finally agree to work out their problems themselves without seeking any more “help”. They go to lunch, dance at the bar and everything ends well.

AM-220 "Only The Lonely"
Original Air Date:05/03/99

The Brief:
Elaine’s dream finally comes true – she gets the face bra infomercial, only to have her aunt re-appear – with a lawyer – claiming that Elaine stole the idea of her dead cousin. Many in the firm are all too willing to believe this – but not Ally, who represents Elaine. Finally, Elaine remembers a tape she’d made of Martha’s (her cousin’s) birthday, where she vividly describes her idea for the face bra and Martha doesn’t seem to have a clue of what she’s talking about. After the tape is shown in court, the charges are dropped and apologies – both from Elaine’s family and Georgia, who was doubtful whether Elaine was telling the truth.
Meanwhile, John decides to try the knee pit on Nelle, and it doesn’t go well. Finally, she suggests a date – outside of the building – and takes him, along with Ling & Richard, to a rap club. After it’s over, Nelle admits it was sort of a test – and John passed with flying colours. They share a sweet kiss as Ally watches on the other side of street, thinking of her lost love Greg.
In court, Billy & Ling defend a boss of a software company who’s monthly “Beach Day” activity appears to be “harassing” an associate, Vicki Sharpe. They give great arguments and win, but later Vicki confronts Billy in the hallway that not all policies of the like – this one included – are gender neutral. “Men aren’t judged by their bodies; Women still are.” she tells him.
Nelle invites Cage over to her place for dinner that night – a sign, as interpreted by Ally & Richard, that she wants to sleep with him. This later turns out to be true; as John & Nelle make sweet love, Ally goes to the hospital to confront Greg. Devastated after seeing him with another woman, she returns home to her one true love – ice cream.

Cage & Fish defend a woman (Bonnie Manix) who dropped her ex's grand piano on his favourite Porsche because she found out he was having an affair, openly cuddling with his mistress in front of his wife's friends. Cage tries to countersue for emotional distress, but since it's a no-fault state, he can't. He gives an excellent closing, but Bonnie is found guilty. The verdict - paying damages in the amount of 35 cents.
Ally is depressed by her bitter break-up w/Greg, and Ling suggests hiring a no-sex escort from her service, attempting to make Greg jealous. They stage Cage's 35-th birthday party at the bar, and Renee invites Greg. He brings a date, but soon forgets about her - Ally's plan worked, he's jealous. He asks her out on a coffee date, and she agrees. One small problem - she now also has a crush on her escort, Kevin. He declines - he's a professional! - but they do share a kiss.

Original Air Date:05/24/99

The Brief:
Ally's hallucinations are getting more & more series by the day, and Fish gives her a therapeutic speech on how all women out there are exactly like her. Meanwhile, Ling & Renee pitch in to help - Renee gets Ally to go on a mad dating spree (which doesn't help much as they don't meet anyone who's worth the fuss); Ling rounds up tens of hunks for her, but Ally's still not satisfied - she's convinced she won't find the guy of her dreams on a cattle call.
Nelle is beginning to get annoyed at the way the firm's life revolves around Ally's problems. Underneath it all is jealousy - she's falling in love with John, and what worries her most is that, besides connecting with Ally, John likes to retreat into fantasy land with her from time to time. Fortunately, the conflict is resolved.
Outside of office flames, the famous Margaret Camaro returns with a lawsuit against her insurance company that refuses to pay for artificial insemination, and she & Ally discuss matters of family, life & love.
